Siilid ei joo piima

On ülilevinud eksiarvamus, et siilidele tuleb pakkuda piima juua. Näiteks sellel nädalal võimendas jälle seda väidet Eesti Ekspress oma artiklis "101 vihjet puhkajale". Tegelikult peaks leht sellise vale soovituse eest ka kuidagi vastutama.

Tegelikkus aga on selline, et loomulikult siilid joovad neile pakutud piima, aga kuna siilid ei saa hakkama laktoosi seedimisega, siis tekivad neil hoopis korralikud kõhuvaevused.

Kui tahate siilidele olla meelejärgi, siis:
- ärge hoidke oma hoovi ülikorras
- jätke siilile aianurka väike risuhunnik
- tehke tihedasse tarasse paar väikest ava, et nad saaks edasi-tagasi liikuda

Väga õiged soovitused! Väga lagedatest ja korralikult pügatud aedadest kaovad siilid kiiresti. Nii et natuke kaost tagumisse aianurka :-)
